Hello, My name is Michelle, and I live in Stanley in the North east
of England.
I was born in October 1969, and was raised in Blaydon by my grandparents.
My grandfather used to work for British Rail and my Grandmother just
used to do whatever job she could get, whether this was in a shop or
even cleaning, as long as she was earning some money to see us through
school. They were both very hard working and we had a strict upbringing.
I have one brother called Michael who is 1 year older than myself.
I went to school in Blaydon where I enjoyed science subjects much more
than the art subjects. I left school with 8 GCE`s , most of which were
in science subjects. I particularly enjoyed and excelled at mathematics.
I did initially stay on in the sixth form to do A level Mathematics and
Physics, but my grandparents needed an extra income, so I left school
to get a job in a shop.
I met my partner Eddy in 1989 and moved in with him later that year.
A few months later I got my first dog, Zena. This was definitely a case
of love at first sight, and she has always been the perfect companion.
Although Zena was my fist Bullmastiff Eddy had had the breed already
for about 8 years. I then bought a companion for Zena 18 months later,
who we called Elsa. Both of these are Bullmastiffs, and they got me completely
hooked on the breed because they are so loving yet they have that protective
streak in them, particularly towards myself |
We went on holiday to Blackpool one year, and as normal Eddy`s mum doggysat for us because we couldn`t bear to put them in kennels. This was where I saw my first Neapolitan Mastiff and decided I must have one. We bought our first Neapolitan mastiff in 1997 who we called Sky
but did not look into the breeder close enough and ended up with a bitch
who was vicious and had horrendous hips. We had to get Sky euthanised
when she was 9 months old because her hips were getting so bad and she
was in a lot of pain.
I was obviously very upset about losing Sky, seeing how upset I was
Eddy went out 3 days later to get me another Bullmastiff puppy who we
called Cassie, who is related to my other 2 bitches. Although having
Sky was enough to put me off Neapolitans for good Eddy was having none
of it. He went out 4 days later and bought Lunar. The difference between
Lunar and sky is like chalk and cheese. Lunar is of a very good standard
and loves her kisses and cuddles. I trust her and love her without reserve
and this is returned tenfold. Lunar we got from a reputable breeder and
have not regretted a single day since we bought her. She is also doing
very well in the show ring getting 3rd place in post graduate
at crufts this year, and more recently being reserve best bitch at SKC |
I have worked for British Airways since December 1996 and I thoroughly
enjoy my job and love working for such a good company with a good reputation.
It also means of course that I have some good holidays. Eddy works for
Social Services and has done so for the last 25 years. For the last 5
years he has been working in a gardening unit with people with learning
difficulties and he thoroughly enjoys working with such a wonderful bunch
of lads. Because I tend to work very unsociable hours, yet Eddy works
office hours, this means that we don`t get to see much of each other.
But of course there is nearly always
someone at home with the dogs.
Michelle has recently had her operation on her spine, to remove two
collapsed
discs. |
